How to Reset All Helperbird Settings
Learn how to delete all your Helperbird settings and start fresh. This guide walks you through resetting the extension to its default state.
When to Reset Your Settings
Resetting your settings can help if:
- Helperbird features are not working as expected
- You have changed many settings and want to start fresh
- A feature seems stuck or is behaving incorrectly
- You are troubleshooting an issue and support has asked you to reset
Important: Resetting will delete all your customized settings, including colors, font choices, and feature preferences. Your saved notes, highlights, and subscription will not be affected.
Step 1: Open Helperbird
Click the Helperbird icon in your browser toolbar. It looks like a small owl and is usually in the top-right corner of your browser.
This will open the Helperbird menu.
Step 2: Open the Options Menu
Click the gear icon in the top-left corner of the Helperbird menu.
This will open the Options panel with various settings.
Step 3: Find Delete All Settings
In the Options panel, look for Delete all settings or a reset option.
Click on it.
Step 4: Confirm the Reset
A confirmation dialog will appear asking if you are sure you want to delete all settings. This action cannot be undone.
Click Confirm or Delete to proceed. Helperbird will reset all features to their default state.
What Happens After a Reset
After resetting:
- All features will be turned off and returned to their default values
- Any custom colors, fonts, and sizes you set will be cleared
- Keyboard shortcuts will be disabled (the default)
- You will need to reconfigure any features you use regularly
- Your Helperbird subscription remains active — you do not need to log in again
- Your saved notes and highlights in the Notebook are not deleted
Tip: If you are resetting because of a specific problem, try turning features on one at a time after the reset to identify which one was causing the issue.
