How to Use Volume Booster on Any Website

Learn how to use Helperbird's Volume Booster to increase audio volume beyond the normal maximum on any website with videos or audio.

What is Volume Booster?

Volume Booster amplifies the audio on any webpage beyond the normal 100% maximum. If a video or audio file is too quiet even at full volume, Volume Booster can make it louder so you can hear it clearly.

Who is This For?

Volume Booster is helpful for people with hearing difficulties who need louder audio, anyone watching videos with low audio quality, users in noisy environments, people whose device speakers aren't loud enough, and anyone who finds certain websites have quieter audio than others.

How to Enable Volume Booster

Step 1: Open Helperbird

Click the Helperbird icon in the top right corner of your browser to open the extension menu.

Step 2: Go to the All Features Section

Scroll down to the All Features section and expand it to see all available features.

Step 3: Find Volume Booster

Look for the Volume Booster option in the Media section. Click on it to open the settings panel.

Step 4: Adjust the Volume

Use the slider to increase the volume beyond 100%. You can boost audio up to 200% or higher depending on your needs.

Tip: Start with a moderate boost and increase gradually. Very high volume levels may cause audio distortion.

Using Volume Booster

Once enabled, the volume boost applies to all audio and video on the current page. If you navigate to a new page, the boost will continue to apply.

To return to normal volume, simply move the slider back to 100% or turn off the Volume Booster toggle.

Important Notes

Protect Your Hearing: Very loud audio can damage your hearing over time. Use Volume Booster responsibly and avoid extremely high levels for extended periods.

Audio Quality: Boosting volume beyond 100% may cause some distortion, especially on audio that was already recorded at low quality.

This chrome extension is absolutely amazing. I'm a Primary school teacher and it helps children with a broad range of needs. It's so easy to set up. I love the way it syncs across devices so set up is seamless across all the children's computers. The customizable features are a game changer for allowing children to enjoy reading and accessing the web in our school. The best application I have ever seen for school children. Looking forward to trying the iPad application soon.

Helperbird is an excellent extension supporting a range of learning differences. Aside from providing many evidence-based dyslexia-assistive tools, the extension also functions as an easy-to-use, feature-rich web experience customization tool suitable to support a wide range of cognitive differences (i.e., color blindness and ADHD-related focus concerns, among others). Also, the developer is a very good person who supports the various learning-different communities in many ways, including by designing the free version of Helperbird to provide enough functionality to be beneficial to people who cannot afford to subscribe to the full-function version.

My son has dyslexia and has been struggling with parts of distant learning over the last year. We recently discovered this software and he is loving everything about it, especially with the ease of following directions and completing his assignments! We have used several other tools but this has everything a dyslexia person needs all in one bundle! The upgrade is definitely worth it to make our daily struggles, on the computer, run much smoother. I also greatly appreciate customer support (helpdesk). They went above and beyond to make sure we were all set up on the computer for my son to most successful.
