How to Update Your Credit Card Information

Change the card that pays for your Helperbird Pro subscription in the billing portal, then fix a payment that has already failed so Pro features unlock again.

Your card expired, or you have a new one. Here is how to swap it, and what to do when a payment has already bounced.

Update Your Card

  1. Open your billing portal. See managing your Helperbird billing for both ways in.
  2. Find Payment method. Click Add payment method, or Update beside the card that is already there.
  3. Enter the new card and save.

The next payment uses the new card. Your card details go to our payment provider. Helperbird never sees or stores your card number.

Want to stop paying rather than change the card? See how to cancel your Helperbird Pro subscription.

If a Payment Has Already Failed

A failed payment locks your Pro features. The Status row in the Billing section tells you which stage you are at. For every other status, see managing your Helperbird Pro subscription.

What the Status row says after a failed payment
StatusWhat it means
Payment overdueA charge failed and the card is still being retried. Pro is locked until one goes through.
Payment method requiredThe retries have run out. The invoice is still open, and Pro stays locked until it is paid.

Update the card using the steps above. Then look for the option to pay the open invoice in the portal. That charges the new card now, instead of waiting for the next automatic attempt.

Once the payment goes through, Helperbird unlocks Pro at its next check, which runs about every eight hours. To unlock it sooner, press Check in the Billing section. If Pro stays locked after a successful payment, see why a subscription is not activating.
