What This Does

While you read, Helperbird lets you save notes and highlight passages on any page. My Notes brings those into the Notepad, so you can pull a quote or a thought straight into what you are writing instead of hunting for it again.

Who is This For?

This is helpful for:

  • Students writing something up from pages they read earlier
  • Anyone gathering quotes for an essay or a report
  • People who research first and write afterwards
  • Anyone who has highlighted something and cannot remember where

Step 1: Open My Notes

Click My Notes in the toolbar. It is to the right of Text stats.

Your saved notes and highlights appear as coloured cards. Each card shows a tag telling you what it is, such as Note, Highlight or Extracted, along with the website it came from.

Step 2: Find the Note

If you have a lot of notes, type into the Search notes box at the top. The cards narrow down as you type, matching the words in your notes.

Step 3: Click It to Add It

Click the card. The note is added into your document at the end of what you have written, and the window closes.

You can then edit it like any other text, and save the document when you are done.

Notes stay in your list after you insert them, so the same note can be used in more than one document.

Talking to the Helperbird support team during their live stream was a great experience. They gave me a preview of what's coming to Helperbird for Firefox, and I'm really excited about it. I'd give a 5/5 rating for the current features and the sneak peek.
