Helperbird Pro Features Still Locked - How to Fix
Helperbird says Pro but a feature shows a badge, or has gone from the menu? Learn what each badge means and why some features are hidden rather than locked.

Your subscription is fine, but a feature will not open, or it has gone from the menu. This page is about features, not billing.
First Check What Your Plan Says
Open Helperbird. The badge beside the logo names your plan.
- Helperbird. Free in this browser, so every Pro feature is locked. Press Check first, as described in how to resync your subscription. If it stays Free, see why a subscription is not activating.
- Helperbird Pro or Unlimited. Pro is on here. Carry on down this page.
What the Badges Mean
A small round badge can sit where a feature's toggle would be. Only one of the three means the feature is locked.
| Badge | What it means | Where it takes you |
|---|---|---|
| A diamond in a dashed red circle, labelled "Pro feature" | It is a Pro feature and this browser is on Free | Our pricing page. On Safari, iPhone and iPad the Helperbird app opens instead |
| An orange circle with an exclamation mark, labelled "Not available on this page" | The feature works, but not on the page you are on | A Helperbird feature is not supported |
| A pink circle with an information icon, labelled "Better in the Google add-on" | You are on Google Docs, Slides or Sheets, where that feature lives in the Workspace add-on | A panel about the Helperbird Workspace add-on |
The Feature Is Missing Not Locked
Some features are hidden rather than locked.
- Not available in this browser. Features that Firefox, Safari or iPad cannot run are hidden there, so those menus are shorter than the Chrome one.
- Turned off by your school or workplace. Administrators can switch individual features off. There is no badge to click and no way to bring them back yourself, so ask your administrator.
- It is further down the popup. The popup opens on your Quick actions, your own shortlist. The rest sit under All Features below it. Click the arrow, or use the search box.
- We removed it. Speed reading, Text stroke, Print and Paragraph columns are gone, each with its own page on what to use instead. Zoom and Magnifier are not removed. The Maths Reader is not removed - it is automatic: the Screenshot Reader reads equations on its own, in the same capture as the words.
Right After You Unlock Pro
- The popup holds the old answer. It reads your plan when it opens, so if you activated on the settings page, close it and open it again.
- Open tabs do not. Helperbird spots the change and reloads its features in every open tab about a second later, so no reload is needed.
