What the Billing Portal Is
The billing portal is where the money side of Helperbird lives: your card, your past invoices and your plan. It is run by our payment provider, so Helperbird never sees or stores your card number.
There are two ways in. From Chrome or Edge you can open it from inside Helperbird. On any other browser you sign in to it with an email code.
Looking for which plan you are on, or what your status means instead? See managing your Helperbird Pro subscription. This page is only about the portal.
Open it From Helperbird
In the Billing section of the Helperbird settings page, click Open on the Manage row. The portal opens in a new tab, already signed in as you, so there is no code to wait for.
For a picture of the Billing section, how to reach it, and what its other rows do, see managing your Helperbird Pro subscription.
Firefox, Safari, iPhone and iPad have no Open button. Use the email code below on those.
When you are done in the portal, its return link brings you back to the Helperbird support page.
Open it With an Email Code
This route works on any browser and any device, as long as you pay for Helperbird yourself.
- Go to the Helperbird billing portal (opens in a new tab).
- Enter the email address you signed up with.
- Enter the code sent to that inbox.
Your billing portal opens. If the code does not arrive, ask for a new one and check your spam folder.
What You Can Do in the Portal
- Update your card. See how to update your credit card.
- Change your billing email. Read the warnings first, because this is also how Helperbird finds your subscription. See how to change your email.
- Cancel your subscription. See how to cancel.
- Download invoices and receipts. Covered below.
Refunds are not handled in the portal. Email support instead. See how to request a refund.
Download an Invoice or Receipt
Open the portal, then find the list of past payments, labelled Invoice history. Each row has a download link.
An invoice shows the date, the amount and the plan, which is what most schools and employers want for an expense claim. If you need your school or company name and address on it, add them to your billing information first, then download.
If the Open Button is Greyed Out
Open stays greyed out until Helperbird has found your subscription on this browser and has a portal link for it.
Press Check on the Check subscription row first. If it stays greyed out, use the email code route above to get to the portal, and see why a subscription is not activating to fix the lookup.
On a school or workplace account there is no personal portal to open. See what Helperbird Pro Unlimited is.
