How to Sync Your Helperbird Settings Across Devices

What Sync Does

One setting decides it, called Sync, on the Helperbird settings page.

With Sync on, Helperbird writes to your browser's synced storage. Every computer signed in to the same browser profile reads the same settings.

With Sync off, Helperbird writes to the computer you are using. Changes you make here do not reach your other computers.

Step 1: Open Helperbird

Click the Helperbird icon in your browser toolbar. It looks like a small owl and is usually in the top-right corner of your browser.

Step 2: Open the Settings Page

Click the gear icon in the top left of the Helperbird menu, then click Settings at the bottom of the Options list. The settings page opens in a new tab.

Step 3: Turn On Sync

Scroll to the Settings card. In the Info list, find the Sync row and turn the toggle on.

Do this on every computer you want your settings on.

Turn On Your Browser Sync Too

Helperbird uses your browser's own sync, so that has to be on as well, with extensions included in what it syncs. Chrome and Edge steps: How to Enable and Use Sync in Chrome or Edge. In Firefox, sign in to your Firefox Account and include Add-ons.

Signing in to Helperbird is a separate thing. Your settings travel through your browser, not through your Helperbird account.

What Gets Synced

Your fonts, colors, spacing, feature toggles and every other setting you change in Helperbird.

Your highlights, sticky notes, notes and reading list travel too, for as long as they fit. Browser sync limits how much it will hold, and a collection that outgrows it stays on the computer that holds it. Nothing is lost, and your other settings keep syncing. If You Want Your Data on One Device Only
