Helperbird Paragraph Features and What Each One Does
Learn what the Border, Background and Width controls in Helperbird's Paragraphs panel do, and which one to try first if you lose your place when reading.

What This Does
The Paragraphs panel changes the shape of a block of text. It does not change the letters inside it. Font, size and spacing are separate settings.
These three controls decide how wide a block of text runs, and what marks it out from the block above it.
Width is the one most people notice. Narrower paragraphs mean shorter lines. A shorter line is easier to track back to the start of, so you lose your place less often.
All three controls are free. Border used to need Pro. It does not any more.
Who is This For?
This is helpful for:
- Anyone who loses their place at the end of a long line
- Anyone reading a wide screen of text that runs edge to edge
- Anyone who cannot see where one paragraph stops and the next starts
- Anyone who reads better with a color behind the text
The Three Controls
They appear in the panel in this order. All three affect headings as well as paragraphs.

| Border | Draws a colored outline around every paragraph, so each one becomes its own box. Turn it on and a Color picker appears below it. | Paragraph borders |

| Width | Limits how wide a block of text runs, which makes every line shorter. Turn it on to get a slider, with Narrower and Wider buttons either side of it. | Paragraph width |
Which One Should You Try First?
Try them in this order. Stop when the page reads well for you.
- Width. Move the slider down until the lines feel short enough. This helps most on wide screens.
- Background. Use this if the paragraphs blur into one another, or if a color behind the text is easier on your eyes.
- Border. Use this if you want a hard edge around each block rather than a color fill.
You can leave all three on at once. They are separate settings.
